Our Doctors

Dr. Stacey Rutledge

Dr. Stacey Rutledge’s roots run deep here in Puyallup and she is so proud to be the owner of this beautiful hospital. Dr. Rutledge grew up here in Puyallup and went to Emerald Ridge High School, did her undergrad at Central Washington University, and completed her veterinary degree at Washington State University (Go Cougs!).
She has a wonderful husband, Sam, and 2 adorable little ones- Clarity 4.5 yrs old and Cooper 2 yrs old. She also has a sweet Yellow Labrador named Charlee, and a spunky little King Charles Cavalier named Daizee Mae. Dr. Rutledge is humbled to be a part of the PVVC family and looks forward to getting to know all the amazing patients and clients that come along with it over the next many years to come.

Casey M. Kime, DVM

Dr. Casey graduated with his doctorate from Washington State University in 1985. Prior to studying veterinary medicine, he received bachelor’s degrees in Chemical Engineering, Zoology, and Veterinary Science, also at WSU.
His unusual background in chemical engineering has given him a unique perspective on the body’s chemical processes and how they can be manipulated through nutrition. These are concepts that he uses daily in his treatment of the many medical conditions that he sees. Although he is not a “specialist,” Dr. Casey has a special interest in skin problems in pets and welcomes these more challenging cases.

Dr. Casey practiced at Parkway Veterinary Clinic in Parkland, Washington, from 1985-1989. In June 1989, he purchased Linden Drive Veterinary Clinic in Puyallup from Dr. Vitt Ferrucci and renamed it Puyallup Valley Veterinary Clinic. He and Dr. Karen have been practicing together in Puyallup since that time. The building was replaced with the current hospital in 2001.

Karen K. Kime, DVM

Dr. Karen received her bachelor’s degree from Washington State University in Bacteriology and Public Health. She then received a Master’s Degree in Food Science prior to her doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1981. Karen also received a fourth degree in Veterinary Science.
While Dr. Casey attended veterinary school, Dr. Karen worked in farm animal and pet practice at Blackhawk Veterinary Clinic in Cheney, Washington, for three years. She then spent three years in emergency practice in Auburn, Washington. She now performs many of the surgeries at PVVC, and has a special interest in dentistry. Karen handles much of the management of the clinic, and sees clients in the exam room.

Dr. Summer Marsh

Dr. Marsh received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology. She then received her veterinary degree from Colorado State University in 2019.

During her free time, Dr. Marsh enjoys being outdoors, playing her violin, and spending time with her dog and cat. As a Colorado native, Dr. Marsh has loved exploring all the sights and nature in Washington. Dr. Marsh wanted to be a veterinarian for as long as she can remember due to her love of animals, science, and people. In practice, she values compassion, strong communication, and forming trust between herself and her clients and patients. She is so excited to be joining the PVVC team and looks forward to meeting all her new clients and patients!

Veterinary Assistants

Tiffany joined our clinic in January of 2020. Tiffany is married to an incredibly supportive husband, and the mother of two adventurous and creative kids. They share their home with (surely not!) too many cats, a couple dogs, and are constantly developing their hobby farm. She even rents out her goats for brush control! She loves to garden, create things with paper mache, and tinker in several other crafts. She enjoys bartering with local farmers, learning new skills, and perusing antique or barn sales for the ultimate find… or, more likely, the newest of many projects.
